Unarmed Grey Dog Security guards play a crucial role in ensuring that GRHC’s residential properties remain safe, welcoming, and well-managed. Our guards support the safety of residents and staff through visibility, professionalism, and rapid response.

From routine patrols to conflict de-escalation and incident prevention, our team ensures each property remains secure. We will collaborate with GRHC’s management to identify potential risks, improve site protocols, and promote tenant trust through a consistent, friendly presence.

Developing Relationships with Management and Tenants

Grey Dog Security guards foster a sense of community by building respectful and positive relationships with tenants and staff. Our approachable, attentive guards help residents feel comfortable and valued.
By learning residents’ names, assisting with day-to-day concerns, and addressing issues such as noise complaints or access problems, our team creates an atmosphere of reliability and compassion.

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training

Grey Dog Security guards undergo Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training, empowering them with techniques for de-escalating volatile situations calmly and respectfully.
This training focuses on early intervention, communication, and non-violent strategies to prevent harm and reduce conflict.

By equipping guards with empathy-driven skills, CPI training ensures that every encounter — whether with residents, visitors, or staff — is handled with patience, professionalism, and respect.
Our next CPI session is scheduled for late November, reflecting our ongoing commitment to continued education and preparedness.

Paylocity Time Management and Reporting Technology

We utilize Paylocity, a comprehensive cloud-based time management and reporting system, to maintain real-time oversight and accountability across all properties.

This platform allows guards to clock in securely, record incidents, and share updates instantly with management teams. Supervisors and managers use these reports during regular site visits, ensuring consistent performance, adherence to GRHC protocols, and prompt communication regarding security matters.

The result is a transparent, reliable system that strengthens trust and operational efficiency.

Antoine Court Apartments

Located at 901 Division Avenue South, Antoine Court Apartments is a vital part of GRHC’s mission to provide safe, supportive housing for veterans, seniors, and adults with disabilities. The community includes 50 one-bedroom units, each approximately 690 square feet, and a shared community room that fosters connection among residents.

Eligible tenants receive a federal rental subsidy, ensuring rent does not exceed 30 percent of household income. The property prioritizes veterans, adults with disabilities, and seniors aged 62 and older, with referrals coordinated through The Salvation Army and support services managed by GRHC staff in partnership with the Grand Rapids Vet Center and local care providers.

Grey Dog Security proposes a service model that combines compassionate community engagement with proactive site management. Our guards will maintain a visible and reassuring presence throughout Antoine Court, helping residents feel secure while supporting GRHC’s operational goals.

We will work closely with on-site staff to:

• Maintain controlled access and support resident safety
• Assist with crisis prevention and emergency readiness
• Conduct routine safety audits and supervisory visits

All assigned staff will receive Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training and Basic Life Saving / Stop the Bleed certification to ensure calm, capable response to emergencies.

Through this partnership, Grey Dog Security will help GRHC sustain a community where residents experience both safety and dignity — a place where trust and stability thrive.
